Ten Years On, A New Look.

This year marks ten years since Wells Gibson was founded. To mark it, we’ve given our branding a considered refresh. Same people, same advice, same relationship you’ve built with us, simply presented with the care it now deserves. Our Client Communications & Marketing Officer, Jayne Dodds, shares the thinking behind it.

Why now

The firm has grown around it.

In 2016, Wells Gibson was Jonathan alone: one adviser, twenty-eight client families, and around £18 million under advice. A decade on, we’re a team of eight, looking after a little over a hundred families and just over £100 million. The branding we began with served us well; it felt right to let it grow alongside us.

This wasn’t change for its own sake. You know our brand well: its colours, its wordmark, the feel of it. Ours was a simple reason: to mark ten years properly, and to step into the next ten with intent.

The mark

What we wanted it to say.

We wanted it to feel quiet and considered: less a logo than our name, presented properly. Wells Gibson carries the names of two people who meant a great deal to Jonathan: his grandfather, James, and his late father, Terry. It’s a family name before it’s a brand, and that has always shaped how we work, with the person, not the portfolio, at the centre.

Navy is now our primary colour: calm and considered. Gold remains, used sparingly as an accent, the same quiet marker of quality it has always been.

Jonathan put it best, at our anniversary celebration:

“ The rebrand and change to our company logo reflects a business that is evolving and maturing, not just growing. We wanted the new Wells Gibson brand to convey elegance, simplicity and trust. ”

What hasn’t changed

Same people. Same approach.

The team, the advice, the way we work with you: none of it is different. Same people, same phone number, the same steady hand when markets get noisy. When you see the new mark on a letter, an email, or a card, it’s the same team and the same trusted relationship, simply presented as it deserves to be.

Your Wealth

We look after money. That’s the practical, unglamorous starting point.

Your Life

Wealth isn’t the point. It’s what wealth is for. This sits in the middle of the line on purpose.

Your Legacy

Eventually, what you’re able to pass on. That deserves as much care as growing it.

The word doing the real work in all three is ‘Your’. Not ours.

Our values

What guides us in looking after you.

Our team is guided by three principles, each shaping how we make decisions on your behalf.

  • Empathy: we put our clients’ lives at the centre of every decision.

  • Excellence: we think independently and deliver work of the highest standard.

  • Stewardship: we take responsibility for sound decisions with a long-term perspective.

What you’ll see

You may have already noticed.

The team, the advice, the way we work with you: none of it is different. Same people, same phone number, the same steady hand when markets get noisy. When you see the new mark on a letter, an email, or a card, it’s the same team and the same trusted relationship, simply presented as it deserves to be.
